ABSTRACT
Diabetic retinopathy is one of the leading causes blindness. We estimated prevalence diabetic among a population in Dubrovnik-Neretva County Republic Croatia and searched for potential risk factors.A prospective study was performed with 600 patients from different parts who attended regular medical ophthalmological check-ups at General Hospital Dubrovnik September 2014 to 2015. Patients underwent complete assessment by two ophthalmologists. Retinal examination included evaluation presence retinopathy. Any present graded as mild non-proliferative retinopathy, moderate-severe non proliferative or retinopathy.Retinopathy 44.5% sample. 20.7% had form 18.8% form, 5.0% The mean duration diabetes 12.94 years ± 6.85; 12.89 9.18 men, 6.54 women.
