Journal Research, Special Issue, No. 75, pp. 18 - 22.CoconutCreek (Florida), ISSN 0749-0208.The Pará River, located northern Brazil, receives hydrological sediment contributions from a complex network basins, such as Amazon, Portel/Melgaço, Tocantins river basins. Portel/Melgaço basin, fluvial-estuarine system situated between Amazon is still poorly known. Therefore, objective this study to identify whether there any contribution basin River. For that purpose, two campaigns were carried out: 1) June, 2013 (transitional season) 2) March 2014 (wet season). Samplings out over tidal cycle (13 h) consisted bathymetric surveys; tide measurements; cross sections streamflows (Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler); vertical turbidity profiles (Optical Backscatter Sensor) with water sampling (surface bottom for Suspended Particulate Matter) at three points section. Our main conclusion inflow Rivers higher than outflow appears be highest dry season. Thus, are source suspended sediments system, characterizes retention basin.
