Examples IOCG include Sue-Dianne NICO, smaller prospects, including Damp, Fab, Nori/Ra. past-producing Terra mine property significant IOCG-like alteration that contains dome-shaped, bodies. Petrographic study has identified multiple generations magnetite at Nori/Ra and, most part, a single generation Sue-Dianne, Terra. Laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) documents important geochemical differences V, Ni, Cr, Co concentrations within magnetite. Variations trace elements from could be result (1) host rock-fluid equilibration during regional metamorphism, (2) postmetamorphic hydrothermal metasomatism Treasure Lake Group metasedimentary rocks, (3) preferential solubility over Ni Fe-rich fluids, (4) changes oxygen fugacity (fO2), (5) partitioning into coprecipitating sulfides. Regionally, Cr/Co ratio higher barren pre-ore compared coprecipitated with ore minerals and/or present ore-rich veins breccias. Locally, prospect, V/Ni differentiates between ore-related magnetite, Damp Co/Ni extremely high clearly different samples. These results provide database geochemically characterized stages illustrate potential use as an indicator mineral deposits.
