ABSTRACT
Abstract Kaji-Semoga (KS) field, a mature field located in South-Sumatra, requires more efficient production operation to reduce lifting cost. Since 2008, KS has been experiencing gas shortage due the decline associate production. As result, some of lifted producer wells need be converted another type Artificial Lift (AL). After various studies and trials, it was concluded that ESP (Electrical Submersible Pump) most suitable alternative. Currently, AL system is dominated by with total deployment 140 190 producing wells, contributing 70% field's overall oil production, i.e. 9,500 BOPD. Furthermore, purchases as fuel for electricity system, which mainly consumed AL. Therefore, efforts have made evaluate obtain significant cost reduction power consumption through efficiency assessment feasibility new technology implementation. Power application becomes promising attempt consumption. Components mostly affect consumptions are pumps motors. With this understanding, selection carefully determined result efficiency. Permanent Magnet Motor (PMM) one technologies offers higher efficiency, factor, greater density wider operating speed compared conventional induction motor (IM). Short term trial PMM conducted. Field-testing procedures measurements on presented both existing IM at identical condition (head generated, rating, pump & fluid rate). It yielded conclusive Thus, justified expected substantial energy savings reductions. utilized 20% field. Field observation these PMM-ESP units revealed improvements much 10-30% units. This improvement led consumption, we estimated potentially save company almost $ 750,000 per year generation expenditure. In future, all planned replaced gain reduction.
