ABSTRACT
Abstract Background Bluespotted seabream, Pagrus caeruleostictus is a benthopelagic marine species found in tropical regions and member of the family Sparidae genus . In this article, mitochondrial DNA sequence by high-throughput technique, Illumina Hiseq, was carried out on muscle above determined complete mitogenome. Samples were obtained from collected coast Ghana, West Africa. Results The 16,653 bases pairs length (GenBank Accession number: MN319701) comprises 37 genes; 22 transfer RNA genes, 2 ribosomal 13 protein-coding genes as well control region typical vertebrate gene. phylogenetic analysis showed P. clustered with clade auriga. Conclusion This research will serve foundation for molecular genetic studies Ghanaian fish species. Moreover, it contribute to phylogenetics class Actinopterygii, order Spariformes, Pagrus.
