ABSTRACT
Abstract In this study, a novel recyclable, hydrophobicity foam with excellent oil/water separation based on polyurethane (PU) and polypropylene glycol (PPG) grafted stearic acid (PGGA) has been developed. PGGA was simply synthesized by the esterification of PPG, while PU/PGGA fabricated reaction PPG methyl diphenyl diisocynate (MDI) addition PGGA. The exhibits improved oil adsorption capacity, water rejection as well selectivity increase weight loadings. presence at high loading (≥ 5 wt.%) reduces pore size porosity due to viscosity preventing formation reaction. As result, capacity is slightly neglected, nevertheless, significantly enhanced compared original PU foam. result in work suggests simple cost-effective method potential removal large scale application.
