ABSTRACT
The objective of the present study was to characterize diversity 15 Festuca rubra accessions collected from northern Spain on basis amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) and flow cytometry variation. Additionally, all along with cultivar Wilma ( nigrescens ssp. ) were evaluated for susceptibility one isolate dollar spot fungus Sclerotinia homoeocarpa F.T. Bennett) in Asturias. Five AFLP primer combinations Eco RI Mse I produced 980 bands; 82.3% polymorphic used analysis. best combination primers RI-AGC+ I-CAG, because these displayed highest degree polymorphism. Jaccard's similarity coefficients between varied 0.30 0.63 revealed low genetic similarity. Both unweighted pair group method arithmetic mean dendrogram principal coordinate analysis distinguished two groups accessions. Genetic variability not related geographic origin or agronomic data. Three exhibited moderate resistance disease may be valuable parent material introducing this other susceptible cultivars.
