ABSTRACT
Methylmercury is an environmental pollutant that toxic to the central nervous system; however, molecular mechanisms underlying its toxicity remain unclear. increases expression of several chemokines in cerebellum mice treated with methylmercury. The present study analyzes mechanism methylmercury-induced chemokine using human 1321N1 astrocytes, and shows methylmercury CCL2 these cells. transcription factor NF-κB involved induction expression. increased level p65 subunit nuclei increase was significantly decreased by suppression RNA interference. These results suggest induces through activation astrocytes.
