ABSTRACT
Measurement of leaf area index (LAI) is important in studies plant growth. Based on this concept, the analysis crop growth has moved from classical to mechanistic models, via functional analysis. Leaf a major variable models and that attempt simulate loss caused by pathogens. A field experiment was carried out May through August 1998, using common bean ( Phaseolus vulgaris L. cv. Carioca), randomized complete block design with two methods LAI evaluation three replications.
