Plant breeding and official variety testing involve the challenge to design multienvironmental trials in several years locations. Several variables influence performance and, therefore, possible selection gain of such trials. We provide a simulation‐based approach using SAS vary these allow comparison different scenarios for series regarding gain. Our builds on FORTRAN software tool SELSYS. Three examples its application are given.
