ABSTRACT
This study proposed fresh leachate treatment with AnMBR based on the on-site investigation of characteristics leachate. Temperature-related profiles properties and a high ratio BOD5/COD (0.462 ~ 0.719) were observed. In addition, achieved COD removal 98.6% maximum organic loading rate (OLR) 19.27 kg-COD/m3/d at shortest HRT 1.5 d, significantly higher than those by other anaerobic processes for treatment, such as UASB EGSB. The microbial analysis implied that abundant protein carbohydrate degraders (e.g., Thermovirga Petrimonas) well syntrophic bacteria, Syntrophomonas, ensured effective adaptation to reduced HRTs. However, an excessive OLR 36.55 1 d resulted in sharp decrease key microbes, archaea (from 37% 15%), finally leading deterioration AnMBR.
