ABSTRACT
Radiative cooling (RC) has been extensively investigated to realize passive refrigeration without extra energy consumption, while its power and efficiency is confined by Kirchhoff's law, that is, the emissivity equal absorptivity. The recent development of narrow-band nonreciprocal thermal radiation breaks limitations inspire an open question can we explore broad-band at atmosphere window achieve radiative (NRC)? Here, we, as first, discussed effects NRC from three perspectives; ideal NRC, colored incident-angle dependent which all demonstrate extraordinary effect beyond traditional reciprocal RC with maximum temperature drop 35.23 K below ambient temperature. To enable practical, design a multi-layer cooler based on gradient epsilon-near-zero (ENZ) metamaterial, 12.25 room (298.15 K). present work opens new way refuel further exploration may facilitate practical application radiation.
