ABSTRACT
Expansion of fisheries plays a crucial role in providing fish products for human consumption on global scale. However, the impact various fishery management modes lake ecosystems are still unclear. The present study employed an ecosystem approach based Ecopath model to examine three different scenarios Yangming Lake Reservoir, i.e., cage farms before 2018, ecological Chongyi waters (2022 CYL), and natural restoration Shangyou SYL), as well assessing impacts activities reservoir ecosystem. results indicated that biodiversity index 2022CYL 2022SYL surpasses 2018 CYL, water quality has undergone significant improvement. modeling revealed exhibited higher level maturity terms restoration, evidenced by Total Primary Production/Total Respiration ratios approximately 4.6 9.5 36.1 (2018 CYL). implementation policies contributed enhanced stability YML food web. simultaneous discovery non-native species Tilapia spp. overpopulation also potential threat. demonstrated positive relationship between ecosystem, with communities benefiting from fishery, biomass increase aquatic organisms, either direct or indirect effects. We assessed these reservoir's Therefore, this shows strategy eco-fisheries can balance economic benefits, at same time provides new idea prevention invasive alien species.
