ABSTRACT
IntroductionStudies on the assessment of quality life patients with trauma are scarce. This study aimed to develop a trauma-specific measure provide reliable and valid quality-of-life information in cohort rib fractures.Materials MethodsData were collected using 36-Item Short Form Survey (SF-36) follow-up period 6 months. The 12-Item (SF-12) scores extracted from SF-36. Generalized estimating equations used evaluate longitudinal change each item. Factor analysis was performed assess factor structure.ResultsSeventy-one fractures enrolled. Physical Functioning, Role Physical, Bodily Pain, Emotional domains showed significant changes over time; therefore, 10 related items selected for our originally generated measure, Trauma-10. SF-12 Trauma-10 excellent internal consistency test–retest reliability. A four-primary one-secondary structure represented SF-12, goodness fit unsatisfactory (Chi-square statistic = 544.5612, df 49, p < 0.0001, Root Mean Square Error Approximation [RMSEA] 0.2216, Comparative Fit Index [CFI] 0.7632). model loaded three factors, Ability, Functional Limitation, Pain Emotion, 40.8349, 29, 0.0712, RMSEA 0.04451, CFI 0.9905).ConclusionThe newly developed instrument, Trauma-10, able long-term outcomes increase validity measurement trauma.
