ABSTRACT
Simulating the propagation of optical pulses in a single mode fiber is fundamental importance for studying several effects that may occur within such medium when it under some linear and nonlinear effects. In this work, we simulate by implementing Schrödinger equation using Split-Step Fourier method its approaches. Then, compare their running time, algorithm complexity accuracy regarding energy conservation pulse. We note simple to implement presents good results conservation, besides low temporal cost. observe greater precision symmetrized approach, although time can be up 126% higher than other approaches, depending on parameters set. conclude window must adjusted each length fiber, so error during reduced.
