ABSTRACT
Introduction: Metacognition plays an essential role in competency-based medical education. Metacognitive skills consist of knowledge and regulation metacognition. This study was conducted to investigate the metacognition undergraduate students its correlation with students' academic performance. Methods: The metacognitive inventory comprised 52 binary-scale items administered 202 Vietnam Military Medical University students. entire semester clinical results were used measure their Results: total awareness score high (median 0.8). median significantly lower than (0.7 vs 0.8, respectively). participants a ≥ 0.8 had higher (full exam 7.4 7.5). group military, having sports habits usually searching documents English, proportion without these above characteristics (with percentages 53.3%, 59%, 64.3%, respectively; p < 0.05). number books read by those (3.5 compared 2.4 books).
