ABSTRACT
Abstract: Biobanks play an important role in biomedical research that aims to understand cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying the development of diseases, improve interventions for human health. Despite financial support from mixed public funding streams, long-term sustainability biobanks remains a major concern. Review literature demonstrates total cost-recovery strategies, as well commercialization results or derived products, may not represent best way reach maintain sustainability. Public require by investment commitment governmental sources, industrial users. In this regard, study suggests strategies sustainability, such sample-sharing biobank consolidation reduce unit costs, embedding health care systems, working implement global mechanisms.
