ABSTRACT
Portal vein thrombosis (PVT) is one of the severe complications hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). PVT deteriorates liver, and its dysfunction increases risk bleeding, influencing prognosis patients with liver cirrhosis HCC. The aim our study was to investigate whether D-dimer testing could be a sensitive marker for diagnosis HCC PVT.Between June 2010 December 2015, 118 were admitted Cannizzaro Hospital, Catania, 50 controls recruited from their relatives health examinations. All enrolled diagnosed pathologically confirmed as having measured an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay using 2 monoclonal antibodies against nonoverlapping determinants D-dimer.D-dimer levels in significantly higher vs without PVT, P<0.002, controls, P<0.001.Plasma fibrin turnover allows recognition activated coagulation which may manifested PVT.
