ABSTRACT
Nonadherence to medical treatment and lack of cooperation in hypertensive patients >65 years age are believed be caused by a number age-related problems, such as cognitive impairment. Numerous epidemiological prospective studies have demonstrated that hypertension remains untreated for many or is unsuccessfully treated reasons poor compliance adherence the patient may lead impairment.The objective this study was investigate occurrence impairment its effect on elderly patients.This an analytical cross-sectional study.The conducted 300 aged 65-91 (mean age=71.8 years, SD=7.8 years) diagnosed with hypertension. The following research tools were used: 1) Hill-Bone High Blood Pressure Compliance Scale (HBCS) 2) Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE). We also analyzed documentation obtain basic sociodemographic clinical data. approved Bioethics Committee Medical University Wrocław (no KB-144/2016).Cognitive occurred 60% patients. A group 63% complied antihypertensive therapy, mean score 20.8 points.
