ABSTRACT
Purpose: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a major health problem with poor prognosis. However, little known about elderly community-acquired-AKI (CA-AKI).This study aimed to investigate the incidence, clinical characteristics, outcomes and use of suspected nephrotoxic medications after CA-AKI in elderly.Materials Methods: A total 36,445 patients aged over 60 years were recruited from 2013 2016.Through an electronic database, we collected demographic medical history data, admission lab results all patients. Results: 2371 identified. The incidence was 26.03% elderly. The proportion chronic comorbidities Charlson comorbidity index score higher than that non-AKI patients. After CA-AKI, proportions exposure non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), iodine contrast agent, angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEI) or II receptor blocker (ARB) significantly decreased (p < 0.001).However, other possible (including aminoglycosides, glycopeptide antibiotics, antifungal agents, beta lactam diuretic, ferralia, adrenergic agonists for cardiac insufficiency therapy) still increased 0.001).Compared patients, had percentage cardiogenic shock, multiple organ failure, transferring intensive care unit, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, hemodialysis, mortality 0.001).Moreover, worse prognosis when more kinds used 0.001). Conclusion:The high, complex complications outcomes. The most associated CA-AKI.
