ABSTRACT
This study compared the Charlson comorbidity index (CCI) information derived from chart review and administrative systems to assess completeness agreement between scores, evaluate capacity predict 30-day 1-year mortality in intensive care unit (ICU) patients, compare predictive with that of Simplified Acute Physiology Score (SAPS) II model.Using data 959 patients admitted a general ICU Norwegian university hospital 2007 2009, we CCI score systems. Agreement was assessed using % agreement, kappa, weighted kappa. The logistic regression, model discrimination c-statistic, calibration goodness-of-fit statistic. The complete (n=959) when calculated review, but less (n=839). good, kappa 0.667 (95% confidence interval: 0.596-0.714). c-statistics for categorized scores charts were similar included age, sex, type admission: 0.755 0.743 mortality, respectively, 0.783 0.775, mortality. Goodness-of-fit statistics supported fit.The showed good predicted patients. combined admission almost as well physiology-based SAPS II.
