ABSTRACT
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of combined-modality therapy for elderly patients with locally advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) invading chest wall.We retrospectively enrolled 21 (aged ≥60 years) NSCLC wall. For external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) primary tumor, 40Gy was applied supplemented iodine-125 seed implantation while 60Gy to lymph nodes mediastinum. Follow-up conducted every 3 months postoperatively. The related analytic parameters were change in tumor size, objective response rate (ORR), disease control (DCR), degree pain relief, improvement physical status, toxicity. The significantly inhibited local growth (from 7.84±1.20 4.69±1.90 cm) (P <0.0001), 71.4% ORR 90.5% DCR at 1 year. cancer-related relieved <0.05) status improved <0.05). No procedure-associated death or grade > 2 irradiation-related adverse effects reported this study. The EBRT permanent is an efficacious safe treatment option
