ABSTRACT
Thoracotomy is frequently accompanied with moderate-to-severe postoperative pain, and excellent pain management important for early rehabilitation. The purpose of this study to investigate the effects dexmedetomidine combined ropivacaine epidural analgesia after thoracotomy. One hundred thirty patients undergoing elective lung lobectomy were enrolled in double-blind randomly divided into two groups. Group A received 0.5 µg/mL plus 0.1% analgesia, group B (control group) sufentanil analgesia. Hemodynamic parameters monitored. Pain intensity at rest was assessed using a visual analog scale (VAS) 2, 4, 6,8, 12, 24, 48 hrs postoperatively. Ramsay sedation score (RSS), analgesic consumption, respiratory depression, nausea vomiting, pruritus, bradycardia recorded. The VAS values during 6-48 lower than those (P<0.05), RSS higher 4-48 compared (P<0.05). Side similar between groups (P>0.05).Dexmedetomidine may provide better sedative effect thoracic surgery fewer side effects. It superior thoracotomy.
