ABSTRACT
The opioid crisis in the United States has been pandemic. As such, anesthesia providers are frequently faced with patients who have a history of abuse or currently receiving chronic therapy for such disorders. administration medications as buprenorphine-naloxone can impact choice perioperative and pain control. Furthermore, postoperative opioids may lead to relapse abuse. We present 26-year-old male on maintenance buprenorphine-naloxone, presented median sternotomy, cardiopulmonary bypass, pulmonary valve replacement. implications implementation multimodal analgesia discussed, along options decrease eliminate use opioids.
