Prevalence of Fibromyalgia in Pharmacy Professionals and Students: A Cross-Sectional Study

ABSTRACT
The prevalence of fibromyalgia (FM) in pharmacy students and professionals is unknown. This study identifies the FM using three screening tools factors associated with its development. Furthermore, this assesses level agreement between magnitude participants' responses to each item tools.This was a cross-sectional survey conducted on members Saudi Pharmaceutical Society an online questionnaire. participants were asked fill questionnaires: London Fibromyalgia Epidemiology Study Screening Questionnaire (LFESSQ), Rapid Tool (FiRST) Survey (FSQ). Demographic data affecting collected analysed.Two hundred ninety-three accessed survey: most them (93.5%) females (78.8%) mean (standard deviation) age 29 (8) years. 52% had generalised body pain. FiRST, LFESSQ Pain, fatigue criteria FSQ 27.1%, 34.9%, 50.9% 68.4%, respectively. Fleiss' kappa coefficient revealed fair among all (kappa = 0.350; p < 0.001). After adjusting for significant variables, resulting adjusted odds ratio developing 4.86 people working 41-45 h weekly (95% confidence interval [CI], 1.32-17.84; 0.017), 5.16 who frequently wake up during sleep CI, 1.85-14.40; 0.002) 12.99 apnea or other sleeping disorders 2.07-81.68; 0.006).FM prevalent much more than reported general population healthcare workers. Traditional along higher hours identified as variables.
