ABSTRACT
Post-stroke depression (PSD) constitutes a significant complication that influences both patient survival and functional recovery following stroke. Despite its prevalence, PSD still lacks long-term, safe effective treatment measure. Remote ischemic conditioning (RIC) is simple noninvasive procedure exert neuroprotective effects. This pilot study aims to investigate the efficacy, safety, feasibility of RIC as preventive measure against PSD. Acute stroke patients within 15 days post-event were considered eligible for enrollment. Fifty participants recruited underwent daily treatments 12-month period. Depressive symptoms assessed utilizing Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD) at baseline, well 1, 3, 6, 12-months post-intervention. The found gradual improvement in depressive among 50 who completed over period, evidenced by consistent decline pertinent scores. Moreover, merely two experienced mild adverse reactions. study's outcomes indicate safe, well-tolerated, feasible Consequently, it advisable conduct comprehensive randomized controlled trial further evaluate effectiveness safety preventing
