ABSTRACT
Actigraphy is increasingly used for sleep monitoring. However, there a lack of standardized methodology data processing and analysis, which often makes between study comparisons difficult, if not impossible, thus open to flawed interpretation. This evaluated manual method detection the rest interval in actigraph collected with Actiwatch 2. The (time bed), defined as bedtime rise time set by proprietary software, an essential requirement estimation indices. manually systematically detected 187 nights recording from seven healthy males three females, aged 13.5±0.7 (mean ± standard deviation) years. Data were analyzed agreement software default algorithm scoring. Inter-rater reliability scoring was also tested two scorers. showed consistency settings scorers time, but only moderate duration poor activity level at time. Manual intervals high degree all parameters (intraclass correlations range 0.864 0.995). findings demonstrate that on occasions unable detect or exact interval. Participant issues inter-scorer made difficult intervals. These have led protocol define supplemented event diary.
