ABSTRACT
Bedtime procrastination (BP) has a close relationship with one's chronotype, from biological perspective on time. However, it remains unknown whether there is an association between BP and psychological Therefore, the aim of present study was to evaluate time (TP) effect TP chronotype by examining sample college students pre- post-COVID-19 outbreak.A total 628 Chinese (267 in pre-outbreak 361 post-outbreak) validly completed version Procrastination Scale, Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZTPI), Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire.Students more behaviors exhibited greater deviation balanced TP, especially after COVID-19 outbreak. Hierarchical regression analyses revealed that past-negative future orientations, as operationalized ZTPI, contributed independently behaviors. The structural equation modeling further demonstrated morningness significantly related future-oriented which turn decreased outbreak samples, while associated less past-negative-oriented only sample. This indicated predominantly focused orientation can mediate pandemic may disrupt flow change role chronotype-TP BP. These findings explain how individual differences are BP, be helpful designing effective interventions avoid viewpoint therapy.
