ABSTRACT
To study the current practices in Jordan regarding cataract surgical procedures and anesthesia trends for surgery.A cross-sectional survey of members Jordanian Ophthalmology Society was conducted October 2020. The questionnaire included questions about participants' demographics, preferred techniques cataracts, technique surgery, factors which affect choice technique, use sedation, who gives anesthesia, if there is an anesthesia-trained person observes patient during changing towards between surgeons.More than half respondents (59.1%) had been practice more 5 years. method routine phacoemulsification most participants (98.4%). For mature cataract, 61.4% participants. More (55.1%) used topical with intracameral phacoemulsification. Two thirds (66.3%) performed retrobulbar extracapsular surgery. In majority cases (86.6%), respondent themself one administers anesthesia. No sedation before surgery 62.6% cases.
