ABSTRACT
Background: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are important diagnostic and prognostic markers in cancer. In the study reported here, we analyzed potential relationship between miRNA expression extrathyroidal invasion papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). Methods: Samples from 91 patients with PTC were collected January 2008 to April 2012 at our hospital. To detect levels of fresh frozen tissues (n = 3) non-extrathyroidal 3), array was carried out. The upregulated miRNAs two groups confirmed by using real-time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction. Results: miR-146b, miR-221, miR-222, miR-135b significantly higher group than ( P 0.001, 0.019, 0.004, 0.006, respectively). addition, miR-146b level massive minimal 0.016). associated tumor size 0.018, 0.008, 0.024, upregulation miR-222 tumor-node-metastasis stage 0.004 0.0001, also correlated age sex 0.048 0.002, Conclusion: Our results reveal that four other clinicopathologic features PTCs, which may support their clinical value as biomarkers for PTCs.
