ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to analyze socioeconomic burdens and other difficulties that multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) patients in cities are facing, identify major obstacles which groups most affected.Face-to-face phone-call interviews were conducted early 2018 follow-up with newly diagnosed MDR-TB 2017 three hospitals financially affluent Chinese cities. Demographic data information on their medical care, insurance coverage, expenses collected analyzed.A total 144 cases reviewed during the period, excluding 38 who lost 29 refused participate, 77 enrolled study. A 61 (79%) these hospitalized after diagnosis an average hospital stay 14 days, them 57 (74%) sputum positive diagnosis. proportion failed community care 48% married, 56% white collar employment 43% temp jobs/unemployed.
