Compliance with Standard Precautions and Associated Factors Among Health Professionals in Public Hospitals of East Wallaga Zone, Oromia Regional State, Ethiopia

ABSTRACT
Purpose: Health care workers are potentially exposed to infections through contact with blood and bodily fluids while performing their duties. Compliance the standard precautions reduces risks of health workers' exposure fluids. However, compliance level among is not well studied in study area. Therefore, this aimed assess its associated factors all public hospitals East Wallaga Zone, Western Ethiopia. Materials Methods: Multi-facility-based cross-sectional was conducted 392 workers, from January February, 2022. Simple random sampling technique used select participants. Logistic regression model fitted determine presence statistically significant associations. A p-value less than or equal 0.05 along adjusted odds ratio 95% confidence interval declare statistical significance. Results: The proportion who comply found be 51.6% [95% CI; 46.9– 56.7%]. Having positive attitude towards (AOR=2.71; C.I: 1.68– 4.39), having training on (AOR=3.27; 2.019– 5.29), working referral (AOR=1.83; 1.13– 2.96) were good precautions.
