Management of traumatic tympanic membrane perforation: a comparative study

ABSTRACT
Abstract: This prospective study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of sea buckthorn oil patches in treating traumatic tympanic membrane (TM) perforations. We enrolled 370 patients with TM perforations different sizes. These were randomly assigned control group and treatment group. In group, a sterile cotton patch used cover treated patch. The healing rate time compared between two groups. found that overall significantly higher than For middle large perforations, led significant increase rate. At 2 months after injury, duration was, generally, shorter ( P <0.05). conclusion, are effective which results increased rates decreased time. Keywords: oil, membrane, perforation, regeneration
