ABSTRACT
Studies in the area of allelopathy agriculture have increased due to search on alternative methods weed control compared conventional herbicides. Thus, objective this work was evaluate chemical composition and phytotoxicity Lippia origanoides essential oil weeds species Bidens subalternans, Euphorbia heterophylla Macroptilium lathyroides. The extracted from leaves L. by means hydrodistillation diluted concentrations 0.01 1%. chemistry determined a gas chromatograph coupled with mass spectrometry. Phytotoxic activity evaluated pre post-emergence tests germination, seedling growth, chlorophyll content cellular respiration. results demonstrated an rich monoterpenes, mainly oxygenated, camphor as major compound. In general, both germination development were entirely inhibited oil, decreasing increasing concentrations. 0.5 1.0% totally B. but did not affect M. sprayed had no effect able induce visible injuries such necrosis chlorosis. Only respiration E. affected oil. All phytotoxic effects observed are high monoterpenes oxygenates, also concentration used. Therefore, bioherbicidal potential for tested species.
