ABSTRACT
We applied tracer transport simulations using the Taiwan vector vorticity equation cloud-resolving model (TaiwanVVM) to evaluate effects of local circulation associated with lee vortex and planetary boundary layer development on accumulation pollutants a diurnal time scale in central Taiwan. The wind directions crucial synoptic northeast monsoon are idealized as initial conditions examine impact pollutant transport. primary nontraffic emission sources taken sites so that experiment results could be good proxy realistic scenarios. With over complex topography being resolved explicitly, Puli basin is discussed. simulation clarify contribution sea breeze conclude high concentration at night due trapped by thinning mixed-layer depth evening. sensitivity change direction shows under northeasterly east (due north) environment, transports from southern source (northern source) most likely induce night. This first study distinguish obtained experiments provide possible mechanism transport, which an insight interpret observations guide design field further establish fundamental principles pollution
