ABSTRACT
Sarcopenia is widely believed to be linked poorer outcomes in inpatient rehabilitation. This study aimed assess the impact of sarcopenia on functional and dietary intake during hospitalization adults undergoing convalescent We conducted a retrospective cohort analysis at single rehabilitation institution. The Asian Working Group Consensus Criteria for was used diagnose. Functional Independence Measure (FIM) score hospital discharge measure primary outcome. Energy protein intakes were calculated as part nutritional assessment. There 126 patients research (median age, 73 yr;54% women). Stroke (n = 73;53.4% sarcopenia) musculoskeletal disorders 53;56.6% among admission diagnoses. Multiple linear regression revealed that FIM total modestly associated with only stroke (? 0.1872, P 0.09), well significantly independently 0.3217, < 0.05). In hospitalized therapy, related lower results. Early identification treatment nutrition should implemented this population. J. Med. Invest. 70 : 457-463, August, 2023.
