ABSTRACT
Background: Thyroid hormones are important in hematopoiesis, especially erythropoiesis. dysfunction, including hypo and hyperthyroidism, associated with variable hematological abnormalities, particularly anemia. disorders not only quantitative defects but also functional abnormalities of blood cells. Objectives: To evaluate the daily routine cell parameters thyroid dysfunction (hyperthyroidism hypothyroidism). Patients Methods: This Prospective study was conducted from October 2020 May 2021 at clinical pathology department, Al-Azhar University Hospitals, Cairo, Egypt. One hundred Egyptian patients suffering (hypothyroid hyperthyroid) fifty healthy volunteers (subjects without dysfunction) as a control group were enrolled study. History examination done well following laboratory investigations, complete count, smear, reticulocyte thyroid-stimulating hormone, free T3, T4. Results: From our study, we found that WBC count differentiation platelet Retics have no significant association hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism patients. In hypothyroid group, microcytic hypochromic anemia common finding. Some show anisocytosis. hyperthyroid some mild Additionally, few normocytic normochromic Conclusion: Microcytic anisocytosis findings hypothyroidism. Both seen However, more common. Anisocytosis frequently both conditions.
