ABSTRACT
T HE growth of Dunaliella salina SA20 (Dunal) Teodoresco Egyptian isolate (from El- Bardawil Lake, Sinai, Egypt) in wastewater is a more cost-effective cultivation method.Wastewater, such as mozzarella cheese whey (MCW), produced massive quantities dairy industry byproduct, and growing D. waste could be used safely biotechnological applications.Applying different organic MCW ratios to inorganic Loeblich nutrient medium (20, 50, 75% v/v MCW/Loeblich) supplement allowed mixotrophic nutrition, while completely (100% medium) for autotrophic nutrition. The optimum performance cells was observed 20% indicated by measured values chlorophyll (10.51mg/L), dry weight (405mg/L), cell count (6.92 x 10 6 cell/ml), optical density (1.12).Using MCW, pH were applied explore the effect on availability, 7.5 found optimal growth.Additionally, curve experiment comparing mix-and conditions presented higher relative mean maximum rates (0.19, 0.21 day -1 , respectively) than (0.16, 0.18 respectively).
