Effectiveness of Applying Finger Handheld Relaxation Technique on Pain Intensity and Fatigue among Children Undergoing Chemotherapy

ABSTRACT
Background: Chemotherapy is a standard cancer treatment, but it can cause side effects like pain and fatigue that affect children's quality of life.Complementary alternative therapies, including Finger handheld relaxation, have gained popularity as potential solutions to alleviate these symptoms.Aim: Evaluate the effectiveness applying finger relaxation technique on intensity among children undergoing chemotherapy.Methods: Quasi-experimental research design was utilized.Setting: This study carried out at Oncology Institute in Sohag City.A purposive sample receiving chemotherapy which were randomly classified into control groups (35 each group).Tools: Three tools used collect data: structured interviewing questionnaire, numeric rating scale, assessment scale.Results: Children group experienced severe rate 4%, while for 70%.Additionally, 58% reported mild pain, only 10% pain.In addition, 46% fatigue, 37% worst fatigue.Conclusion: The results present concluded who received exhibited less compared did not receive it.Recommendations: should be integrated care help reduce fatigue.
