ABSTRACT
Background: Use of the Internet, computers, smartphones, and other electronic devices has dramatically increased over recent years, this increase is associated not only with tremendous benefits to users but also documented cases excessive use, which negative health consequences. In many countries, problem reached magnitude a significant public concern. Objective: This study aimed at estimating prevalence Internet addiction among Egyptian medical students its relation their depression, anxiety stress. Results: Across sectional including 678 students. Their age ranged from 17 – 24 41.4% them were males. The participants subjected self-administered questionnaire that included personal data, family history previous year academic degree, compulsive use scale (CIUS) was used, Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21 (DASS -21) used for assessing anxiety, Problematic (PIU) participant 68.3%, PIU significantly income, stress odds ratio [1.57 (1.11 2.22), 1.65 2.43), 1.48 (1.03 2.12)] respectively. Conclusion: high problematic internet in Menoufia University matter concern stress, depression as well impact on achievement. It important plan comprehensive programs raise awareness about hazards introducing treatment services primary care facilities.
