ABSTRACT
The flexural plastic hinge (PH) length is a critical parameter for reinforced concrete (RC) frames subjected to lateral load.In this work, review of past studies introducing empirical equations estimating the PH (lp) RC was introduced.Another key aspect explored in paper study effect different available lp on overall nonlinear structural response frames.Therefore, ten were selected from simulating behavior two with experimental data.Each frame analyzed times alternative values under pushover analysis using SAP2000 software.The modeled displayed an average error ranging 12.3% 23% ultimate load, and deviation -30.4% 20.1% initial stiffness.These errors indicated that accuracy predicting highly dependent chosen equation.Finally, proper equation which could represent accurately recommended.
