ABSTRACT
Chitosan (CH) is a natural product produced from the shells of crustaceans. Both CH and nanoparticles (CH-NPs) have recently been used in various pharmaceutical biomedical applications. The present study aimed to evaluate potency chitosan or reducing negative effects 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD)induced haematotoxicity nephrotoxicity albino rats. Methods: Twenty adult male rats were placed four groups five each: control group, TCDD group (10µg/kg intraperitoneally injected), + (intraperitoneal injection (10µg/ kg) an oral dose (200 mg/kg), CH-NPs group: intraperitoneal mg/kg).For all groups, experimental period lasted for weeks. Results: The TCDD-treated showed significant (P < 0.05) decrease RBC count, HB, HCT, WBC lymphocyte percentage, PLT, whereas there was non-significant MCV, MCH, MCHC, monocytes. On other hand, increase neutrophils eosinophils noticed. In addition, several morphological abnormalities erythrocyte membranes observed group.A serum urea creatinine levels marked histopathological changes kidney tissue observed.Administration could approximately restore normal hematological parameters improve dioxin-induced renal changes.Although no difference between seemed better effect on some vice versa with parameters. The concluded that administration animals might play protective role against hematotoxicity rats.
