ABSTRACT
This article presents new data from geochronological study the lake-bog organic-rich layer of “Ilya Prorok” sequence (Upper Volga Basin, Tver Region) that is a one reference sections located on Russian Plain. Ideas concerning age and climatic conditions these organic-mineral deposits formation changed significantly over long history their study. As result, viewpoint about belonging this to Likhvin time began prevail. However, it still unclear with which marine isotope-oxygen stage (MIS) interglacial can be compared. According paleobotanical Ilya Prorok section, was confirmed lower part attributed warm phases interglacial, while its upper half deposited during transition cooling after period. For first time, radioisotope buried section have obtained. direct 230Th/U dating, probably no earlier than ~ 326–260 Kyr ago. The peat bog half, according results applying isochronous approximation, correlated interval ~256–225 data, were formed MIS-9.
