ABSTRACT
Abstract The present work evaluated the surveillance of drinking water quality information system database and correlated findings microbiological analysis with distribution intestinal protozoa from metropolitan region Rio de Janeiro. From database, we obtained 1,654 georeferenced monitoring stations that were used in analysis. results indicate minimum number samples collected per parameter (free residual chlorine, turbidity, counts total fecal coliforms (Escherichia coli)) was not fulfilled, collection throughout year irregular representability sampling points considered strategic low (48% municipalities). Besides, municipalities a high prevalence for parasite also ones had highest reverse can be observed, indicating transmission through contaminated water. Despite increased participation actions during studied period, it is necessary to implement managerial measures improve system, aiming correct flaws inconsistencies application protocol.
