ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT Lao PDR's growing economy, urbanization, and changing lifestyles are putting pressure on water resources, necessitating effective management for economic growth population well-being. This qualitative study aimed to explore the facilitators barriers implementation of water-related policies in Savannakhet Champassak provinces both which considered vulnerable reduced security. Eighty-seven key informants (KIs) have been interviewed about awareness policies/strategies facilitators/barriers policy. Overall, KIs working at national provincial levels had a better understanding existing compared with participants from district officials. According KIs, were dissemination legislation related security relevant ministries, departments agencies, publicizing their obligations under these policies, increasing community participation. Identified lack technical capacity, infrastructure, budget coordination. reported contribute weak somewhat fragmented approach Further effort is required improve inter-agency collaboration resource sector.
