ABSTRACT
The Harris’ Hawk is commonly used by falconers in falconry as a plan to avoid collisions between birds and aircraft, being trained capture vultures, herons, Southern caracara, lapwing, pigeons. aim of this work was evaluate the hematological parameters Hawks airport fauna management order assess health these birds, compare results hawks from similar characteristics differentiate not hawks. This study has federal authorization under number 57551-1 (Instituto Chico Mendes de Conservação da Biodiversidade (ICMBio/Ministério do Meio Ambiente, Brazil) on 08/30/2017. In study, six females three males (Parabuteo unicinctus), with techniques, were control at Antônio Carlos Jobim-Galeão International Airport, Centro Preservação Aves Rapina - CePAR, located Rio Janeiro RJ. All over months age, clinically healthy good body condition. following analysis performed: weight, erythrocyte counts, hemoglobin dosage, hematocrit, quantification mean corpuscular volume, concentration, count leukocytes, basophils, eosinophils, heterophils, lymphocytes monocytes, processed microscopy. Compared other studies parameters, presented decreased values for erythrocytes, hemoglobin, volume while indicators such leucocyte, heterophils increased. conclusion, prey are more susceptible stressful factors, which can cause alterations parameters.
