Assessing Anxiety about Retirement: The Case of Academicians

ABSTRACT
One hundred and forty-four individuals, ninety-two of whom were active university faculty fifty-two retired, completed a measure anxiety about retirement as well battery self-report scales assessing number personality, job-related, retirement-specific constructs. Results suggested that the newly developed possessed high internal consistency both discriminant construct validity. Moreover, it is multidimensional in nature, distinct content from previous retirement. Its use for persons anticipating discussed context benefits proactive stance toward preparation.
