ABSTRACT
Cytokines are pivotal regulators of immune responses. They critical in mediating inflammation, recruiting cells, and driving pathogen clearance. Among these, interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin-8 (IL-8), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) stand out as key players pediatric immunity, they exhibit unique expression patterns that reflect the dynamic nature developing system. This review explores dual roles these cytokines orchestrating defense their potential diagnostic biomarkers for infection severity children. It highlights how elevated IL-6, IL-8, TNF-α levels correlate with bacterial, viral, fungal infections discusses utility distinguishing between etiologies. The article pinpoints current technologies cytokine detection impact on early diagnosis risk stratification. relevance cytokine-targeted therapies managing hyperinflammatory states is highlighted argued integrating profiling other diagnostics personalized medicine has transformative healthcare. These would pave way more precise, timely, effective management infections.
