ABSTRACT
The internet has the potential to foster healthy lifestyles and support chronic disease management. Older adults could benefit from using other information communication technology access health-related interventions available online.The aim of this study was investigate factors influencing use in older oldest age groups determine frequency for purposes.Using data a nationally representative telephone survey aged 75 years over, sample 999 people assessed structured clinical interviews. Descriptive binary logistic regression analyses were performed.Overall, 42.6% (418/999) participants used internet. Among those, 55.7% (233/417) searched information. Regression revealed that significantly associated with younger (odds ratio [OR] 0.89, 95% CI 0.85-0.92; P<.001), male gender (OR 2.84, 2.02-4.00; higher education levels 6.69, 4.48-9.99; wider social network 1.04, 1.01-1.07; P=.01), quality life 1.02, 1.00-1.03; P=.006), lower depressive symptoms 0.80-0.99; P=.04), rates illness 1.12, 1.04-1.21; P<.004).This provides population-representative on old Germany. People participate online activities. Understanding are can contribute developing tailored eHealth (electronic health) services improve well-being adults.
