ABSTRACT
People with low health literacy experience more challenges in understanding instructions given by their providers, following prescriptions, and care system sufficiently to obtain the maximum benefits. insufficient have high risk of making medical mistakes, chances experiencing adverse drug effects, inferior control chronic diseases.This study aims design, develop, evaluate a mobile app, MediReader, help individuals better understand complex materials improve literacy.MediReader is designed implemented through several steps, which are as follows: measure an individual's level; identify terminologies that individual may not based on literacy; annotate interpret identified tailored reading skill levels, meanings defined appropriate external knowledge sources; MediReader using task-based user satisfaction surveys.On basis comparison group, results demonstrate can users' documents. This improvement particularly significant for users levels. The survey showed satisfied tool general.MediReader provides easy-to-use interface read It effectively terms understand, then, them languages understand. Experimental feasibility this materials.
